Did anyone catch VH1’s Behind The Music last night? Well in case you missed it….the show featured my favorite Puerto Rican, Mr. Ricky Martin. I used to have a BIG crush on him and even tried many times to get close (we have mutual friends). I’ll never forget being backstage at the Latin Grammys and seeing Ricky walking down the hall; waiting for our INTRODUCTION to take place. I had my hand extended and just as we are about to shake…a door swings open and hits Ricky on the back! Apparently, we were making too much noise and the guy in the sound booth felt the need to ruin my moment! Ricky was SWEPT away and escorted on stage where he sang a beautiful ballad to me. That same week, he was being honored at a private dinner by the Grammy Foundation for his charity work….Daymz was seated at the table next to him. Would he remember me from backstage??? Would he fall in LOVE and make all my dreams come true, NO! My friend even promised a boys weekend in Puerto Rico but that didn’t happen either. Ricky wasn’t out back then but we all knew. What’s my point? Oh, the VH1 special, yeah it was on last night and Ricky talked about his struggles and the process of coming out and about how happy and in love he is and how everything is perfect…blah, blah, blah.
